At the PBL we have developed two educational workshops on biotechnology.
1. Agriculture, Biotechnology, and GMOs: Informing the Debate
This workshop introduces the technology of agriculture biotechnology applications (including GMOs) and some of the issues and controversies. Topics include:
- Where Does Our Food Come From?
- DNA-based Biotechnology and Modern Agriculture
- Setting the Stage about Food and Agriculture
- Issues, Controversies and Concerns
- The Organic Food Debate
- The Ethics of Agriculture
- Renewable Energy and the Future of Humanity
2. Pharmaceutical Biotechnology: Bridging the Education Gap in the Post-Genomics Era
This workshop addresses many of the current topics in pharmaceutical biotechnology which has now reached an exponential growth phase, growing much faster than society can assimilate it or its implications, with many misconceptions affecting public health.
These intensive modular workshops can be self-taught using online materials at the viewers own pace.
They can also be presented live (in person or online) by Dr. Albert Kausch. This is best accomplished over a 3-5 day period.
