Postdoctoral Positions in Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Plant Transformation
The Plant Biotechnology Laboratory at the University of Rhode Island in the College of the Environment and Life Sciences has several postdoctoral positions available in the areas of Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Plant Transformation. The successful applicants will have a PhD or equivalent degree in cellular and molecular biology, plant biology, genetics or related fields, and should have expertise in molecular biology and/or plant transformation and genetics.
We seek applicants for
Molecular Biology: Applicants should be familiar with molecular vector design and construction, standard molecular cloning techniques, plant genomic DNA isolation, DNA sequencing, PCR, qPCR, and Southern blot analysis.
Plant Transformation: Applicants should be familiar with and have experience with Agrobacterium-mediated transformation; biolistics, plant transformation (preferably with monocot species), embryogenic culture development, plant cell and tissue culture, transformation selection and plant regeneration.
Plant Biotechnology: Applicants should be familiar with transgenic plant analysis including trait and reporter gene expression, Southern blot analysis and qPCR.
Part-time Laboratory, Greenhouse and Field Positions
The Plant Biotechnology Laboratory is seeking applications for part-time positions working in the laboratory, greenhouse and field on various research projects.
